Yvette Barrientes is a lifelong resident of Edinburg, Texas. She is a proud mother of two remarkable sons, Joe Daniel, and Jeremy Castilleja.

In August of 1989, she started her career at H-E-B in Edinburg, Texas. She began as a Customer Service Representative, then was promoted as a Greeter. Her goal was to improve people’s lives- by providing quality food, volunteering at local nonprofits, and showing up in times of need. Fulfilling the mission statement and values of H-E-B.

In September of 1991, she became an Insurance Representative for Sanborn’s Mexico Insurance. As an Insurance Representative, her goal was to exceed the customer’s expectations by providing them the best Mexico insurance coverage with the highest level of service.

In October of 1992 through August of 2016, she worked for the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District. During her first sixteen years, she was an Instructional Aide in the High Intensive Language Development program. Her goal was to serve students who are recent immigrants. After sixteen years at Harwell Middle School, she was given the opportunity to become the Parental Involvement Coordinator at Barrientes Middle School. As a Parental Involvement Coordinator, her goal was to continue to promote a strong Parental Involvement and Volunteer Program, provide educational opportunities, and enhance partnerships among school, home, and community to ensure academic success for all students as they prepare for the future.

In August of 2016 through January of 2023, she joined the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s Office as an Administrative Assistant to the elected Criminal Criminal District Attorney, Ricardo Rodriguez Jr.
