Mr. Andres Guerra was born in Edinburg, Texas and grew up on his family’s ranch in Linn, Texas. He is the son of Hidalgo County Sheriff J.E. “Eddie” Guerra and Norma Guerra. A product of the Edinburg public schools, Mr. Guerra received his bachelor’s degree in political science from Texas A&M University. While at A&M, he was a member of its esteemed Corps of Cadets. After graduating, Mr. Guerra worked in Texas House of Representatives as a Reading Clerk during the 85th Texas Legislative Session in Austin, Texas. Thereafter, Mr. Guerra attended law school at Texas Southern University – Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas.

During law school, Mr. Guerra gained valuable experience working at a national tax collection firm and at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office where he assisted senior prosecutors in preparing cases for jury trials. Mr. Guerra later obtained his Juris Doctor summa cum laude and graduated in the top ten percent of his class.

After receiving his law license, Mr. Guerra worked as an associate attorney at a statewide personal injury litigation firm in Houston, Texas, where he represented hundreds of clients involved in motor and commercial vehicle accidents. Soon after, Mr. Guerra returned home to the RGV and started a career at the Hidalgo County Criminal District Attorney’s Office as an Assistant District Attorney. At the DA’s office, Mr. Guerra prosecuted thousands of cases ranging from misdemeanors to felonies, including DWI, family violence assault, drug possession, and murder. Mr. Guerra gained extensive trial experience having presented numerous cases in front of both juries and judges.

Mr. Guerra is passionate in providing high quality and zealous representation for his clients. As a former prosecutor, he has the trial experience, knowledge, and skill to assist you in your legal needs.
